      What Should I Do in Case of a Breakdown?

      In this article, we explain what to do in case of a vehicle breakdown to ensure your safety and facilitate problem resolution. Follow our guidelines to handle this situation calmly and efficiently.

      1. Stay Calm and Park in a Safe Location

      • As soon as you identify a breakdown, gradually reduce your speed and look for a safe place to stop the vehicle. Turn on your hazard lights immediately to signal other drivers. Use the warning triangle and wear a reflective vest to increase your visibility.

      2. Identify the Problem

      Before making any decisions, try to determine the nature of the problem, if it is safe to do so. Here are some examples:

      • Flat tire: Check if the vehicle is leaning or if the tire is visibly damaged.

        • If it is a slow puncture, look for a foreign object causing minor damage that does not immediately deflate the tire. In this case, the tire may still be repairable.

        • If the tire has a tear due to an impact or rupture, making normal inflation impossible, you should request a tire replacement.

      • Electrical failure: Check if the vehicle's lights or dashboard are working and if any warning messages appear.

        • If the message "electric propulsion system failure" appears, turn off the vehicle completely and wait about 30 minutes for the battery to cool down.

      If you cannot identify the problem, don’t worry. The next step is to contact the appropriate support service.

       

      3. Contact Drivfit

      Call Drivfit support at +351 305 510 061. Select the breakdown option, and you will be directed to the partner insurance provider.

      Make sure you have the following documents with you:

      • Vehicle Registration Document (DUA).

      • Green Card (Insurance Certificate).

      4. Wait for Towing or Assistance

      After contacting roadside assistance, wait at the safe location provided. Preferably stay outside the vehicle in a visible spot for the assistance team. Avoid trying to fix mechanical issues on your own.

       

      5. Take the vehicle to one of the following workshops
